BMRHC is now providing patients with PrEP and PEP!
PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) is a daily medication that can significantly decrease the likelihood of contracting HIV through sexual activity and injection drug use. When taken as prescribed, it is highly effective in preventing HIV.
PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis) is a medicine to prevent HIV after possible exposure. PEP should be used only in emergencies and must be started within 72 hours after recent potential exposure to HIV.
